forums) of Auburn, Georgia.

Ken drives a unique truck. It is a special edition 1998 NASCAR Edition F-150.
It is one of only 3,000 produced.
Details
Where did you buy it from?
The truck was bought October 31, 1998 at Hub Ford in Tucker, Georgia. Not
having a garage at that time, my wife sat up on 'guard duty' that evening as I
slept (I was working nights). She was terrified that some kids would 'egg' it.
How do you like your truck?
I LOVE it! This is the most trouble free vehicle I have ever had. The only
problem so far was a leaky back window. Replaced under warranty with 'nary a
squawk from the dealer. They even gave me a rental car (NO charge!) the days
(One to find the problem, and one to repair it once the parts came in.) that
they had it in the shop!
It seldom fails to get looks from most everyone, and quite often downright
stares from a few adults and most children. It is loads of fun to be driving
down the freeway and have a minivan full of kids come up beside me and everyone
in the van is busily pointing and staring at my truck.
What other Fords do you own or have owned?
My wife was presented with a 1969 Mustang Coupe for her graduation gift, and
we still have it. The original 250 cubic inch six cylinder has long ago been
replaced with a 302. Bored .030 over, cam has a 488 seat to seat duration and a
.460 lift on both sides, Edelbrock Performer intake and carb, ported heads, a
set of Blackjack long tube headers with custom dual exhaust 2.25 inch pipes
feeding to 2.5 inch 'turbo' mufflers, and 2.25 inch pipes on out the back.
'Guesstimates' run 300-325 HP.
What mods have you done?
Not too many mods on this one, and nothing irreversible.
- Vent Shade Bugflector II - 1/11/2000
I hate the looks, but it WORKS. Before adding this, I'd come home every
morning and have to clean my windshield.
- JVC CD changer - 11/20/1998
Plays thru the radio, my hearing ain't good enough to tell much difference.
Ehh, what was that?!
- Tri-Glass Fiberglass Tonneau Cover - 4/1/2000
Very practicle and useful, I like it. Even my 'Better Half' loves it!
- Superchips Flip-chip - 1/16/2003
GOOD mod! BIG difference. I THINK the gas milage is about the same, but it is
hard to tell... I'm too busy playing with the extra power.
- K&N Engineering Ford FIPK 4.6 - 2/11/1999
Noisey at times, but works good. Everyone likes the sound of it!
- Sylvania Silver Star Headlights - 1/16/2003
MUCH better than the stock lights. Now to see if they last longer than the
Japanese stuff (Can't be much worse!).
- Line-X Spray in Bed Liner - 1/20/1999
A true bed saver! Haul what ya like, hose it out and it looks like new.
- Mastercraft Tires - 1/3/2003
I liked the YELLOW letter tires MUCH better. Had to get WHITE ROWL, YUCK!!
Thanks for nothing Goodyear!!
- Ford Motorsports Traction-Loc Differential - 11/20/2002
This came about thanks to the kind person that donated the hole in the
differential cover.
- 3M Window Tint (35%) - 11/2/1998
Cool! I'll never have another vehicle without it.
What future mods do you have planned?
- JBA Shorty Headers - Sitting in the garage waiting for me to find time...
and decent weather at the same time.
- Infinity Kappa Series Speakers - In hand, just gotta find time... and
decent weather at the same time.
- Street Scenes Lightning Bumper Cover - This is 'in the works' and should
be released in a few more weeks. I hope to get one of these this summer.
What do you do? Other comments...
I am a mechanic (Industrial Trucks - Forklifts) by trade, and am presently
employed as a Pipefitter for a large multi-national company. I have worked at
this location since I returned from the Navy in 1972, and recently celebrated my
30th anniversary there.
