REGULAR CAB/SUPERCAB/SUPERCREW
MAJOR PRODUCT CHANGES
OVERVIEW
For 2002 F-150 evolves further as the proven leader in
its segment. New items include: King Ranch Super Cab, FX4 Off Road package,
two new exterior colors, more color choices on Lariat, Electronic Air and
Temperature Control (EATC) standard on Lariat SuperCrew, loose fuel cap
warning light and an upgraded 7700 lbs payload package. This continued
evolution of the F-Series line-up expands the utility of this full size
pickup, without compromising its "tough truck" image and the F-Series
tradition of leadership.
MODEL/SERIES/AVAILABILITY CHANGES
- King Ranch F-150 SuperCab added.
Includes unique leather, significant content and unique upgraded two-tone.
- New standard upgrades to King Ranch
include: Electronic Automatic Temperature Control (EATC) (SuperCrew only),
lighted visor mirrors with Homelink® and Travel Note®.
- King Ranch SuperCrew now offers
optional rear bench seat
EXTERIOR CHANGES
- Standard spare tire lock

POWERTRAIN CHANGES
- 4.2L engine ULEV compliant
- New 6K FEAD and vistronic fan
clutch for improved fuel economy
FUNCTIONAL CHANGES
- Engine block heater now standard in
key states (SD, ND, WI, WY, AK, MN, MT) and dealer installed elsewhere
OPTION PROGRAM CHANGES
New Options:
- New FX4 Off Road Equipment Group –
new 17" 5 spoke cast aluminum wheel, white colored branded Rancho shock
absorbers, new unique Dark Shadow Grey lower two-tone on XLT, new wheel lip
moldings, bumper and lower valance treatments (Dark Shadow Grey on XLT and
Arizona Beige or Silver Metallic on Lariat), new FX4 Off Road decal, new
tape stripes, skid plates, upgraded tires, 3.55 limited slip axle, and five
unique two-tone paint combinations on XLT
- New upgraded 7700 lbs. Payload
Package B (available 4x2 only). Upgrades include 4.10 axle, one piece 4.5"
driveshaft (raises the 7700 lbs GCW from 13,500 lbs to 15,000 lbs) and Class
III Trailer Tow Package
- New Electronic Automatic
Temperature Control (EATC) standard on SuperCrew Lariat and King Ranch (late
availability on SuperCab)
LATE 2001 MODEL YEAR IMPROVEMENTS
Seats Improved:
- New seats bolstering on SuperCab
and SuperCrew 60/40 split bench or captains chairs for added comfort and
support
- Lariat Upgrade Package available on
SuperCrew
- Seat Integrated Restraints (SIR)
added to SuperCab 60/40 split bench and captains chairs
- Manual passenger lumbar added to
all 60/40 split bench seats and captains chairs
- Child seat tethers standard (1 in
front seat w/captain's chairs, 2 in front seat w/bench and 3 in rear seat of
SuperCab with exception of 60/40 bench seat option which has only 1 tether)
