Looks like a space gun, the soap.

I own a black truck that is very hard to keep clean. I always had water spots on my truck after washing it, until I bought the Mr. Clean Auto Dry Carwash. Now there aren't any water spots to be found and I don't have to dry my truck. It dries quickly by itself. I don't like the soap that came with it, but you can put different kinds of soap in it.

The drying agent in this product is great. Drys your truck to a clean shine. Soap spray does not work well. I just get a bucket of soapy water and wash my truck, then use the drying agent.

Makes sponge or mitt very dirty and difficult to clean, leaves film on glass
AutoDry does what it claims. It is relatively easy to use with reasonable cost per wash. The “soap” is kind of funky. It does not hold dirt in suspension like traditional soap. Instead, all the dirt collects on your mitt or sponge. Even with full strength Tide, the mitt will not come clean.
Regardless, of what the FAQ at http://www.autodry.com says, there is a film left behind that will show up on your windows under direct sunlight. Under diffuse ambient light the film is usually not visible.
The filtered water comes out at a very low flow rate and takes a while to do the truck. Don't expect to save a lot of time using AutoDry. I will use up the soap and filter I have now and then re-evaluate. I’m not throwing away my chamois just yet.

I'm a fireman so I get to wash my truck alot (no punches there). I purchased this product a wile ago when it first came out. Over all I'm pleased with it. I ususally wash my truck with another soap that I trust fully (mothers) then give it a final rince down with the sprayer and I have no noticable waterspots. It's great if you plan on waxing it right after or on a hot sunny day that you are running around your truck tring to keep it all wet untill you get the california wiper or what ever you use. Recomend it? yes if you have some time on your hands.

filters and soap don't last long

I enjoyed using it. It's kinda like a new toy. The whole thing feels cheep, and I'm wondering how long before it falls apart. I'm still on my starter set but I'm not looking forward to buying new filters and soap every few washes. One other thing I didn't think about before I bought it. If you use the "Wax as you dry" products... I don't know how that would work here. I don't mean to bash the product though. Overall a good addition to your supplies.

Does what it says -- spot free rinse
Cons:
Ongoing cost of buying consumables (soap, filters)
I just used it last week on my black truck and it worked great. The only thing that I don't like is that the filter and soap don't last long. That means I'll be spending some big $$$ to keep that spot free rinse. It cost me nothing to use my chamois, and I'm going to consider going back to that. I don't want to shell out $10 - $20 per month for frivilous stuff like their special soap, special filters, etc.... If it weren't for that, I would have rated it a 10.

Great product with the exception of the cost. It does go through filters and soap like nothing, but the end result is definately worth it IMHO.

I just bought this and live in an area that has water so hard squirt guns can break windows! The filter is just a ion exchange resin filter not unlike those in household water softeners. Anyone ever heard/thought of recharging these pricy little filters with salt water like the water softeners do?

I bought one of these not too long ago, I love it because it makes washing my car take way less time. All i have to bring is the "Gun" full of soap and a sponge. hook it up to the water hose and off you go. I love the even dispensing of soap and the spot free rinse. The only downside to this product is the cost of filters and soap. the label says not to use any otehr type of soap in it but i have heard others who have had good results with using other types of liquid soap with it. All-in-All its a good buy for those people who dont have an entire day to spend washing there vehicles.
