Description:

The looks alone generate plenty of buzz. But it's the patented SPIRALCELL® Technology in OPTIMA RedTop batteries that's truly worthy of praise. OPTIMA RedTop batteries are built to withstand the abuse Trucks, SUV's and 4x4's experience on and off-road. SPIRALCELL Technology immobilizes the internal components of the battery, enabling OPTIMA batteries to withstand incredible amounts of vibration.
Vehicles modified for better engine performance demand more from a battery. OPTIMA batteries withstand the high underhood temperatures associated with these Performance vehicles. The sealed cells make the battery spill-proof, even if you install it on its side! This prevents external gassing and leaking which can damage engine components and limit battery performance.
If your battery is used in vehicles that demand extra reliability and performance, or if you just take pride in getting the best performance out of your vehicle, OPTIMA RedTop batteries deliver the performance you demand.

Pros:

Minnesota Winter Can't Kill It.
|
|
Cons:

$100.00+
|
|
I lived in Minnesota and had a 1968 Chevelle with 1500+ watt stereo system hooked up to it in the garage. I forgot to unplug it before the winter storage and was expecting it to be dead as a doornail in the spring. It was just like it was off the shelf. Started up EVERY TIME. Super Battery.

Starts my truck on those cold Illinois mornings.

Cons:

fitment

Paid about $130 at Auto Zone but well worth it. Starts my 1998 F150 4.6l when the old (I think original) battery didn't. Left the key on with the radio going at lunch and forgot that it was on. Came back about four hours later and heard the radio. Got in and it started right up. Just a bit difficult to put in the battery tray and put the battery cover back on because it was too short. The plastic that came on top of it is now a shim underneath. would recommend for everyone.

What can I say, it's the best battery there is.

Cons:

You're gonna need to mod, fab, or buy a new tie-down clamp.
|
|
I factored in the price I paid for the red top and the materials to fab a new clamp. I figured about $200, but I built one hell of a clamp. The batt. only cost about $130.
