I factored in the price I paid for the red top and the materials to fab a new clamp. I figured about $200, but I built one hell of a clamp. The batt. only cost about $130.

I do a lot of hauling and road trips so I bought this product to better monitor the FFV engine and mileage. This thing paid for itself as it helped me adjust my driving habits to maximize mileage and allowed me to experiment with different blends of E85/E10 to find the best economy (BTW about 50% e85 to E10 will give you close to straight E10 mileage at highway speeds). The small black unit fit perfectly where the center cigarette lighter was (relocated lighter, used hole for cable, gage attaches with velcro, cord is phone plug style). Looks OEM and backlight color can be modified to closely match instrument panel)
Great Pluses: MPG can be calibrated to actual fuel used.
Cool Gallons/Hour reading allows you to see real-time how
accessories affect fuel usage.
Saves data (day/previous day. etc.)
Easy to transfer to another vehicle
My best highway mileage to date on a 2008 with 5.4 FFV 4x4, 8' bed and regular cab is 22mpg.

I'm new here. Regarding buying from X in the links, I don't see X in the links. How do I find X? BTW, is this the model for a 2001 5.4?
Thanks

Although, it is not a true cold air kit (as most aren't). This kit performs well. Throttle response is greatly improved, as in it has no lag. Also cleans up the engine compartment, so that other items may be more easily accessed. Although MPG has relatively no difference, I can drive my truck harder and still get 17 mpgs.
New!!. upon furthur investigation this is the exact same as Airaid CAI. If you are looking at getting roush, DON'T. Save some money and get a Airaid. The only thing you loose is no roush logo.

I'll start from the beginning, purchased my product from level performance for my 2007 Ford F 150 4.6 and they sent me the wrong item. (shipping end up costing me 50.00)No instructions other than a fuzzy picture of what it supposed to look like. MAF sensor wires just sit out in the open, where water, salt and ice can get in there. In the end, I felt a power loss on the low end and a small increase in the mid to top end. I have the Gryphon custom tuned controller to compensate for the addtional air. Not the best sounding either, Outlaw was a better unit in sound, construction and power. Completely DISAPPOINTED period.

I like this intake, I have it on a '97 f-150 4.6L and the engine roars when the barrels open up. Fairly expensive, but very worth it.
