My first new American car/truck.Driving for 16 years almost damage free, then this happens on June 12 th 1999.Truck was only 25 days young.Collision with a 2 ton forklift.Total damage US $4,880 , Cdn $6,667

That's $6,000 worth of damage!!?? That seems awefully high. A friend of mine that drives a Ranger just got rearended. It was only $3,500 in damage.

New:Rear bumper,taillight,bedliner,boxside.
Paintjob,shipping costs,import taxes I guess.About half of the costs was labour, +- $60 Canadian per hour.

oh dude that is soooo lame. But 5k worth of damage. I hope you had insurance pay for it because if not you coulda done it so much cheaper. bedliner = 200 tail light = 20 bucks on ebay. rear bumper can be gotten for a hundred bucks or less at a wreck yard or again on ebay. Paint i could imagine being a big expense but not that much. But man i know your pain, i dented my car the first day i grabbed it.

when i got rear ended it was 3,600 in damage. i think just 1000 for parts. check my pics.


but that sucks. I had to live without my truck for almost 4 weeks.
