quick question...i'm replacing my water pump today and it looks like i need to remove the entire bracket that holds the AC unit in order to get to the water pump bolts..
Is this correct ??? don't have a manual so i wjust wanted to get as much info as possible before i dive in

yeah u do have to remove ac compresser there are some bolts that go through it and the water pump and some bolts behind the bracket its another one of those situations that make me want to have 5 min alone with the guy that designed it

Thanks Ritty.... I just finished up ans it really wasn't that bad of a job...Just a little time consuming but not very difficult at all...And I'm not a mechanic or even close to being good at working on cars/...LOL

But yeah, it definitely is a jacked up design.

OH and of course now I need a battery , because one thing going wrong is never enough!! :rambo:

hey i have a 1993 f-150 that just started leaking coolant after i turn it off passenger side location of puddle is this the waterpump or could it be a gasket

The water pump is right in the middle, so probably not unless the fan is blowing it around but then you would have drips everywhere. The heater hoses and heater core are on the passenger side, could also be a radiator hose or the radiator itself.

Hey is there a correct procedure to getting the heater hoses off the top of my water pump before removing the pump (4.2 V-6)
