I took my boys 5, 3 1/2 & 2 years old to the Monster Truck Nationals in Toledo tonight. They freaking LOVED it! I am using my Ford as a "work truck" and I have about 4 grand that I can write off as maintenance on the truck for 2007 taxes.

Here are my thoughts:

My goal is to be able to turn bigger tires, so does anyone have any thoughts on spending the money on something else? I can BS my Fiscal year ending this month so I will need to make a decision quickly.

If still had my last truck and money like I do now, an engine would be the first thing I'd do. Are you mechanically-inclined to put the engine together and install it? I'm pretty sure I've seen some pretty sweet complete engines (check Jeg's too). Good luck and keep us posted!

My Dad had a used car lot, it really wasn't an option.

I'll second the motor swap, get your hands on a 351 and stroke it. 4K will do alot for your truck. You could build the motor and still have enough to re-do the rear end

Looks good except for one thing. I wouldn't use a Mustang manifold. Edelbrock makes an intake for the 5.0 and 5.8 trucks just so you dont haft to relocate a thing 8)

Yeah that manifold is in my favorites list on my PC, I didn't know if I could get away with just a plenum or not.

Im pretty sure your stock speed density system will not handle that.

Yeah, I'll be upgrading to a MAF sensor.

You will also need a custom chip burned for your computer or you will need to run a tweecer.

I like the idea of the tweecer, in case I decide to throw a supercharger, turbocharger or jet engine on it in the future.
