hello im new to this forum just wanted to say hi and thanks for all the help. well on friday i was going to school and i rolled the window down then when i wanted to roll it up nothing happend all i would hear is the motor turning. so when i got home i took the door panel off but i couldnt figure out what the problem was i can push up and down the window but when i press the button the motor just turns. so does anyone have any pictures or instructions on how to replace the window motor and actuator or how can i tell which one is broken. because i went to the dealer and they wanted 380 to fix it. i was like its only the window motor not the whole door. hopefully its not hard im pretty handy i install car audio all the time so i think i can handle it with some advice thanks again.

With the door panel off look at where the teeth of the motor connect see if you have a loose bracket or if the motor it's self is loose. The motor and actuator arm that goes to the guid rod in the center of the door should be meshed together tightly. If there is any play its not right. You should not be able to manual move the window I would remove the motor and with a rag not you bare hands grab the gears lightly on the motor and TAP the window swithch it should jurk out of you fingers if it does not then the motor needs replaced. Theres only three small bolts holding the motor in relitivly simple job.

Any parts store can get what you need. When the motor went out on my 89 mustang, NAPA had a few in stock. The window moving up and down by hand is the indicator telling me that A) you have a loose bracket or worn gears or B) The motor is going out. You should never be able to move the window by hand. Since your truck is reletivly new I'm thinking more along the lines of a bad motor.

yeah i checked those links out but those regulators say manual on it i guess those are for the manual and not the electric ones unless they can be used for both? because mine seem to have like cables not those bars.

Scroll down to the bottom off the page there the last two on the page the electric ones are at the bottom. They are $48.35 reach. If you do order one make shure you order the correct one for the door. Their listed as driverside and passenger side.

ok well i bought the part at ford and installed it it seems that you can only buy the ones for the 2004 new body style from the dealer. the ones that i was looking at were for the 2004 heritage edition. thanks for all the help i apreciate it.

I take it the motor was bad then. So is it working now? Thats one of those parts that manufacturs arn't going to make a new one of just because their changing body styles.
