Ford F150 - Minor Site Tweaks

Folks, I made some minor forum changes that should help your experience.

Firstly, a few folks complained of a popup. I had an ad banner at the bottom of the page that I suspect did that. I never got a popup and many people didn't. If the popups stop for everyone, then I found the culprit.

Secondly, I removed the search box on the right column of the page. That widened up the page so you there is no wasted space and less scrolling.

Thirdly, I removed the number of photos associated with each poster's profile (on the left). Now the photo gallery link is just titled My Photos instead of having something like Photos: 36. This reduces the number of database queries which should help decrease the load on the server. I really liked this feature but as the site grows it actually hurts the site. So, for now there is a link to member's photos.

I also made a slight tweak to the code on the home page and the Members Mods area which has slightly sped up those sections of the site.

As always, let me know if you have any suggestions for improvement to the site. This site is here for people like you.

i really liked the feature of knowing how many pictures someone had posted. it was nice to know if the were going to have some variety to their profile.....just my 2 cents.

Yes for now. I want to see the impact these changes have on the server. Hopefully I can put them back soon.

The load speed is much improved from a couple of weeks ago. Only an occasional problem now.

Me too. Some guy's don't even have pic's uploaded. Waste of time with slow connections.

Webmaster, for some reason I am not getting any replys back by email like I used to get when following a subject. Any recomendations?
