i am having what i believe to be a very common problem with my gear indicator on my dash. i am planning to take the dash apart tomorrow in order to put in an aftermarket guage bezel, and i figured i'd try to correct the problem then, which is the orange indicator is no longer siting on the correct gear. i remember some threads here on the topic suggested adjusting a knob on a cable going to the indicator, and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice or perhaps a link to a how to or thread containing how to info. thanks for the help.

the adjuster is the thing with the thin red cable coming out of it. there is a black wheel with teeth on it that you turn to adjust where the needle is supposed to be.

did it today while i had the upper dash all apart for the guage bezel, just took off the lower dash found the wheel, cranked it a couple of times, and good as new. very simple, and thanks for the help and picture, that made it a breeze.
Well, I now have this problem too. However, when I got under the dash to find the adjuster I noticed that the white piece that holds the adjuster and is screwed to the support is broken...Mannnnn!!!!!!!!!!!Gonna try to glue it back with epoxy. Will advise on my sucess or failur.
Hi fellas I am having same problem you guys stated here in this thread. Question: Is this the same for a 2003 Harley Davidson? I am sure it is but i just want to make myself sure about this.
