Im looking to do a twin turbo set up on a 03 f150 with a 5.4. Please dont tell me just to find a kit for a 4.6 and bolt it on. Im the wrong guy for that. I have a tig and wire welder, all the metel tools need to do this, and also the years behind me. what i need help on is the size of the turbos. Stock 2003 f150 5.4 auto 4x4, Im looking to keep the motor in one peace, so i dont need extrem amounts of boost, but i want power. please dont just tell me that i need a t3/t4 turbo times two. i need the sizes of everything. so that i can find the right one's. the turbos are going under the cab of the truck, lots of empty room for a twin set-up. yes i do know i need an external oil pump to return the oil from the turbos to the oil pan. and i will need to have my computer flashed to a new program, i live in wisconsin so if anyone knows anyone in the state that has the background behind this to help with the computer let me know too! CAN ANYONE HELP ME OUT HERE?? dose anyone have all the right numbers to put into the turbo caculaters to find out the right size i need??? please email me at ( ridersofthestorm680@yahoo.com ) Thank you

what are you trying to do??? do you want turbo lag or minimal? high boost or low?

what other mods are you planning on doing besides just the turbo's?

if you dont won't high amounts of boost then just go with one turbo. also you will never find a bolt on setup for your truck. trust me, i know i have the same truck with a 4.6. your best bet is a universal kit, some 50# injectors, and a custom tune. i plan on using the squires turbo systems universal kit. with that you should be able to get about 450HP at the crank easy.

I dont want a bolt on set-up and i know one dose not exest for the 5.4. oh and Tara p.s. not everyone looks at every fourm everyday. its amazining how meny different people respond in posting in 2 fourms. i have to get info from both fourms, the engine guys are telling me what the stock enging can hold up too, and their pro's and con's, and the supercharger/turbo guys give me their pro's and con's. did you not learn a long time ago, to get more then one reference?

What else should i do with mods? i was planing the twin turbo set-up, and thats about it. i already have full magnaflow exhust, edge box tuner. im upgrading the rearend to a truetrac. no cold air yet, i was waiting for the turbos for that plumbing job. And this is where im asking for help, what peoples opinon on how much boost, where it should top out at, rpm range. i was thinking after the 3000 rpm range is where i want to start feeling the boost. this is a highway truck/ and in the summer its on the farm pulling( i cant say how much, becuse its way over limit for the truck) and welding and fabing all the brackets and hangers plus the pipeing is not a problom for me.

well look at a 60mm and keep the boost around 6-8 psi (intercooled) if you want your motor to last

then of course fuel mods (MAF, injectors, fuel pump and a tune)

Thanks Tara, but i need a little help. i have been slowly learning about the turbo sizes, and 60mm is the cold side right? what about the hot side? what size of external waste gates should i go with? im sorry if im picking your brain. i want to chalenge my self with this twin turbo set up. superchargers are to easy. buy a kit or just peace them together, not my thing on this build. i want to be different, but yet reliable

run twin 38mm or larger waste gates and twin 38mm BOV's blow off valves, run a proM blow thru MAF, a 255lph in tank fuel pump and 39# or 42# injectors with a 75mm TB and ported and polished TB elbow, dual 3 inch down pipes and 3 inch pipes all the way out with straight thru mifflers (the chambered mess up the air flow for the turbo's and hinder spool)

with twins I'd run 51's I duno the A/R ratio's your asking but I do know it amkes a huge difference in lag/spool

why not be fun and run twin turbo's thru a twin screw or roots supercharger

Thanks for getting me started Tara. im running manaflow mufflers right now, and thay had a stright through desing with glass on the sides. do you think that would be alright?? some people say when you run turbos you dont need the mufflers anymore. and with the rear remote turbos, thay are in place of the mufflers. so maybe im answering my own "?".. what about the o2 sensers, keep them in the same locations, befor and after the cats then the turbos after that?. oh yes im removing the ford four cats and replacing with just 2 magnaflow cats.

im not a professional but i do know that removing stock cats and replacing with no cats or high flow cats equals bad things on our trucks but i dont know considerin your about to turbo your truck.. but if your taking your stock converters off then you could always give them to me, my truck needs the backcompression bad.

i have talk with plenty of guys that have replaced the stock 4 cats, with 2 magnaflow cats and have no probloms. you might be running the wrong size cats, if your running cats at all.

the maggies will be fine, and the high flow cats will help it spool faster...

you know how superchargers respond better to intake mods?? that's kinda how turbos are with the exhaust and intake mods, turbo's need low restriction inlets and low restriction exhausts to get a good fast spool that has an unlimited top end charge (hence the reason for wastegates)

high flow cats are fine, now if you are talking about resonators then that's where the tune issue comes in and the CEL
