There has to be some one out there that can tell me how I can safely hook a tach to a 2004 ford f150. Without burning out my electrical system.Come on i have read that there are over 60,000 members on the forum The tach modle driver must be out there and were to i get one and how do install it. Please there must be a Ford goo roo out there that is just waiting to give the skoop on this one. The 2004 ford f150 did not come with a factory tach so the hunt is on.Tow a travel trailer and i think this is a must to have on the truck. Thanks in advance to anyone that can give me the words of wisdom.

Hello.
you are going to need a model number 9117 tachometer adapter. You will
locate the red wire with a green stripe that is common to all 8 coils,
and cut it in half so that all 8 coils are now dead.
You will then hook the red of the adapter to the power side of the cut
half. Hook the red/green to the coils side of the cut half. the black of
the adapter goes to ground. The gray is your new tachometer signal
output for your tachometer.
This was emailed to me from autometer for the 2300 model tech I have a 2000 lx 4.6.
