If you are referring to upgrading to a cluster with a tachometer, then yes, you can. And no, it's not a plug-n-play. All the wires are there, but the PATS (passive anti-theft system) has to be programmed. I did it and it was worth it to me. I went through www.fordpartsonline.com . They programmed the mileage and I had to send them the old cluster as a core. Dealer did the rest (PATS and parameters) for about $100. New cluster was $225 online.

I have been curious about this as well. Not sure if its worth the money for an automatic, but I would like to see the RPM's. It might help when I start to mess around with the shifting with the SuperChips tuner. Do they make one that has a speedo that reads higher than 100? My speedo just sticks on the little peg after it passes 100.

You can find on ebay the harley davidson or lightning insturment cluster and they go to 140. They should fit right in, but the PATS is an issue .

I'm glad I did it. So much more pleasing to the eye. Plus, having a 5-speed, my wife needed it ( ). All the clusters (XL, XLT & Lightning) where the same price when I got mine, $225. Didn't see one for the Harley though.

I did it too. Same route as jmlock. Looks great!

My son has a 2002 sport and when I drive it, his cluster looks so weird to me now.

Go for it!!

dude, thats nuts man.

I've only had mine to about 95 on the long straight forest roads out in Ocala, I gotta try it with the tonno off and see how stable it is then, it was rather squirrely when I did it,,,,,,but I did have my 4-wheeler in the back.

Actually the truck feels very stable at speed. Not normal pracice for me to speed excessively but occasionally when the intersate is clear I open it up. I pretty much drive the speed limit everywhere except I75.

nah, at those speeds, mine whips around pretty bad.

maybe it is the tonno, I'll try it next time with the tonno off.

Mine felt pretty stable at 110 going around Lowe's Motor Speedway, If I could have got the pace car out from in front of me I could have seen what it will do

Had mine in the mid 90's and it was very stable. Maybe this summer I could take it to a track and run it a little higher.

ON MY 1997 IT WOULD ONLY RUN UP TO ABOUT 94 MHP , WITH THE OVERDRIVE ON , BUT I DROPPED BACK TO 60 , AND TURNED OFF THE OVERDRIVE AND DROPPED THE HAMMER AND I WAS DEF PASSED A 100 IN A VERY SHORT TIME.
