ive got a squeaking/clicking noise coming from up front. its noticeably louder when im turning and is accompanied by an annoying vibration. i had to replace my wheel hub/bearing assemblies a coupla months ago so i know its not them. the cv joints on my halfshafts dont appear to be worn or torn, although its possible dust or dirt got in when i was replacing the hubs even though i was careful. maybe the ball joints are worn? or the bushings for the front shocks? any help would be appreciated....also ive got a real real bad vibration between 15 and 20mph. i think its my tires im running 285/70R17 bfg mt's and they are noisy as hell. i havnt lost any wheel weights and my alignments fine. theyve been rotated about every 7000 miles with 20000 miles on them 75-80% tread left
when turning does your steering wheel jerk some? If so check your tie rod ends. Mine went bad and made a clicking sound and the steering wheel jerked around when turning.
its most definately a rotational binding/grinding squealing noise. i can hit a big bump or pothole and it will stop for a bit. i can also turn the wheel hard and fast an that will make it quit. the sound is in proportion to the speed of the truck. what the hell is causing this?
I am having the same freaking problem my buddy said his truck done the same to him and he replaced the lower ball joints and it fixed the problem.but my truck feels as if it the darn tire is about to wobble off...If you find out the problem let me know I have had it off the road a couple a weeks and been driving the Chevy and it sucks miss my FORD.

03 supercrew- I have had the same problem ever since I replaced the tires at 17k miles. I put on a set of Michelin LTX MS. The problem started after about 5k miles of wear. Upper & lower ball joints are not the problem since I have replaced all. I put on another set of Michelin LTX MS at 75k because I got such great life out of them. Well, I just put on a set of General Grabber AT2's at 124k. The noise is gone. I think it has something to do with the very hard composite of the Michelin Tires sidewall. Also, the sidewall is why I changed the tires out. They still had good tread but I found 2 of 4 tires with sidewalls splitting. They looked as if someone had taken a razor knife to them. I also found long ago that if I did not religiously check air pressure the noise would get worse. Hope this helps.
