Ford F150 - theft light flashing, truck won't start

Hey there, I have a 2003 F150 crew cab... been running fine, till tonight, my wife got home from the store, then we went to leave again after it sat for about half an hour, and it wouldn't fire up....starter would turn but the motor just wouldn't fire up...the "theft" light kept flashing in the dash also...I thought maybe my key was messed up, so I got the other key, and had the same problem still...

I am hoping someone on here knows what would be causing this. I need to have it fixed by morning. Thanks in advance for your help...

Unless you get lucky and it starts in the morning, it will probably have to get towed to a Ford dealer for repair.

You might try swapping the PCM power relay for another like relay in the fuse box (as long as you don't swap it with the fuel pump relay...) and see if you get lucky.

Nate, did you figure out what the problem was? I assume by now you have, but let us know what the problem was and how it was fixed and what it cost.

I had this same thing happen to me. I had to get it towed the Ford dealership the next day after we couldnt figure out what was going on. They had to cut me a new key, seems like the chip in the key went bad. Has worked fine ever since. This was on a 1999 V8
