I had to try this, just curious if you boys south of the border get offered tires for life by your dealership in return for agreeing to have them do all your regular scheduled maintenance.I prepaid all the maitenance for the next 4 years to save money. They will give you replacement tires the same as what i have now (Pirelli Scorpions)or equivalent.Do you get the same offers?

How much did you pay for the regular scheduled maintenance? Do you have the basic service, limited service, or premium service from Ford?

FORD told me the regular scheduled maintenance would cost $4600 Cad,I got it for $2100 CAD,it covers all mainenance as per the owners manual. However I was told not to miss any service and only they can touch it.A buddy who works there told me of a fellow who purchased the same plan and his wife took the vehicle to a local oil change place figuring it was warranty approved and they changed his oil but he lost his tires. This covers parts and labour.

Read the fine print. Most tires for life plans require more frequent than normal rotation and balancing. My Toyota dealer here requires it every 3K Miles at a cost of 89.00 ea.
Over 50K normal tire life, that would be 1500.00 for a 500.00 set of tires typically. Alternatively, when I replace the original tires, my tire store includes rotation and balance at no charge for life and I won't lose my "free tires" if I miss a rotation by 1/2 a mile one time!
These are typically the biggest rip offs in the car business, but people really fall for em, like the 1000.00 turtle wax jobs in the 80s.
Also, 2000.00 for prepaid maintenance is more than BMW or Volvo charges, if you ask me, you can properly maintain an F150 for four years for less than half that and have 1000.00 left over for your new tires when you need em.....
Just my opinion, doesn't have to be anyone else's......

Thanks for the info,i checked no tire rotation or bal.required, just an exclusive contract for the work that needs to be performed for warranty, oil changes and service intervals.Seems straight up we will see.

I did the prepaid service but I'm pretty sure the tire deal wasn't part of it. My service is prepaid up to 100,000k I think. The sheet I was shown had the service costing in the range of $1500 prepaid, or around $2800 if you paid visit by visit. And by prepaying the service a brake job was included. I usually follow the maintenance menu so for me it was a no brainer. I like the idea of signing the paper and walking out.

Its cheaper to prepay if you can get a good deal from the dealer. If your financing ford credit at 0% its a no brainer. It's more expensive to do all the work as it comes.
Either way, no thing is free. Somehow, he is going to pay for those tires. Who keeps a truck for life these days anyways?
Its a good deal if you plan on keeping your truck for a long time. I trade in every 2-3 years, I buy a new truck when my tires and brake pads wear out, and I love trading in and getting the high resale value. You never know what the future holds, gas may go up to $12 a gallon, or drop to $1 a gallon, or the President may have a high tax on full size truck owners, or you may crash your truck and it gets totaled, or you may lose your job, can't continue the payments it it gets repo'ed, or someone may steal your truck. You never know what the future brings, its a crap-shoot.
