So C/R just so i understand what you're saying then is a company like Borla who make racing exhaust systems do so only to make vehicles louder? That doesn't make a lot of sense.I just put a Borla system on my 5.4 and it makes a big difference and it's not just noise.Last time i checked engines are like compressors getting gases out means more gases in!BY the way good choice in bikes mine's a '81SECA750.(restored)cheers.

i think we all know that it does improve performance. may not be enough to really brag about but its still a little extra. i also have proved that it gives you better gas mileage.

How do you guys know that your aftermarket exhaust brings you better performance?
Did you DYNO test it before and after the new exhaust?

In my opinion its all in your mind, just because it sounds louder, you think its faster.

no but the product says that you get some extra power. why would the company take the chance of false advertisement plus you can feel extra power i havent got this truck over 2500 RPM's since ive had it so i know just from take off that it taking off smoother and faster

What do you end up doing with the old/new exhaust that you removed?

i let the guy do whatever he wanted with it. I didnt really care. He will most likely scrap it one day. He had mufflers in his shop thats probably been there for about 10 years or so.

Thats the best advantage of owning a brand new truck, for the first 2-3 years you never have to worry about spending money to replace your exhaust or tires.
I can understand installing a custom exhaust after your new exhaust rusts out, but its tough for me and a waste of money to cut up and chop off a perfectly good exhaust for a louder one.
and,,, what about your neighbors? when your outside early in the morning running your loud exhaust and waking them up?
like I said before, its your money, you have a right to do what you want, but I would suggest to use your extra money to stock up on canned food, MRE's cause hyperinflation and the dollar collapse is coming, and food will be more valuable than gold.

I say don't worry about trying to make your Ford sound like a Dodge Hemi, it will never sound as strong as a Dodge Hemi no matter if you run a straight exhaust.
I too get harrassed and made fun of by Dodge Hemi Owners, that Hemi engine with the hemi heads is designed to sound loud and strong, the Ford engine is different engine design.
Just tell those Dodge Hemi Ownwers that you get better gas mileage and you can haul and tow more than they can.

Its personal to me, there's a guy living up the street from me he owns a Harley with loud pipes, he hates me because I own Japanese motorcycles, so everytime he rides past my house, he rev's up his loud Harley and it shakes my house! When I am out in front of my house using the garden hose washing my truck, he won't ride near me, he goes the other direction cause he knows if he rides past me with a garden hose in my hands he's going to get a bath!
I just hate loud pipes on anything just because it reminds me and gives me unpleasent memories of a neighbor I hate soooo bad!
nothing against you guys with the loud pipes on your F150
