I have been chasing this one for a while. I have tail lights and turn signals but no brake lights. Fuzes and brake light switch are good. When the hazards are on the rear blinkers dont work. I do not have any turn signal indicators working on the dash either. No brake lights on the trailer harness either.

Please put your truck information in your profile...not all 150's are the same.

Also have you checked if there is power in the actual tail light itself?
Just get a 12v tester and either turn on the emergency signal or have someone hit the breaks and check for power.
If power is there then check for ground.

Thats the first thing I would do before actually going the next step since you already check your fuses.

Hope that helps u a bit.

It is actually a F-350 motor home but you guys seem to know what you are talking about. There is no power to the socket when the brakes are applied. However I have running lights and turn signals. Is there a fuze under the hood that controls the brake lights or is those only for the trailer plug?

This is an owner manual for a 96 F-350. It should be similar. Fuse locations/functions start on page 354.

Turn signals use dash fuse 7 (15A); brakes & hazards use dash fuse 13 (15A).

Yes on the fuse.

So if my fuses are good and I have power leaving my brake switch and the tail lights and blinkers work where am I losing power? The 4-way flasher does not cause my blinkers to work in the back but I think that is a different problem.

Between the BOO & the taillamps are the MFS, a few connectors, & ~15' of wire. That's it. Does the CHMSL work (if you have one)?

You still need to do this - it only takes a few seconds.

So the power to my brakes go through the MFS? This is the switch connected to my turn signal/wiper arm correct?

What is a CHMSL?

thanks

Yes, did you look at that diagram?

Center High-Mount Stop Lamp. It could be the stock one shown below, or any number of aftermarket fixtures/bulbs.

Just wanted to say thanks for all who posted, it helped me also. In my case it was a blown fuse. Key to discovering this was that both brake lights and emergency flashers stopped working. I didn't realize that the turn signals were on a different fuse until reading the above posts.
