Im intrested in doing engine work to a 99 Ranger 4X4. The truck already has a 3in Pro Comp suspension lift and 33x10.50 tires, and a 4.10 rear end. Im intrested in doing some engine work and have been considering a 5.0 swap but have heard of guys just putting a supercharger on the 4.0 to get a similiar amount of torque and hp. This truck is used for mild off-roading and as a daily driver so reliablity is key. Looking for suggestions as to which would be better and more reliable.

Since reliability is important, I would just leave the engine stock. The 4.0 should have plenty of power for mild off-roading with the 33s and 4.10 gears.
