Ford F150 - Motor ?

Hi:

I just picked up a 2004 Ford Ranger 4x4. It has the 6 cyl motor. How can I tell the size of the motor so I can p/u the right oil, filters, etc.

My f150 sayes 5.4 on the plastic shroud that covers the intake.

If yours dosnt say anything, there should be an emmisions sticker under the hood on the rad support that lists the engine size

What model is your Ranger. I believe the 4.0L only came in the XL and XLT model for that year.

OR

I thought this does it to. Go here http://www.decodethis.com/ enter your VIN number. It will show if its a 3.0 or 4.0.
