My 2000 F150 has the manual shift 4x4. The 4wd works but the only thing is, is that the shift knob you pull back to engage it, is very hard to pull. Is there anything to do to loosen it up some. i have driven other f150's similiar to mine and it shifts into 4wheel with ease.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

Lube the mechanism & linkage. Your owner's manual tells what lube to use at each point on the truck, AND how often to do it. Read it.

Do you have a Service Guide, like this?

If not, try to download it from here:

in my opinion hard is good that means you got a good secure lock to the transfer case! I hate my twist knob 4WD...

Mine was stiff like that too.To fix it, I just got under the truck, and sprayed the linkage under the shifter with "FLUID FILM" and worked the shifter back and forth a few hundred times, then re-sprayed the linkage. I re-do it every fall, just to be safe.
