I have a 2001 f150 xlt 4wd, 5.6L. I just recently replaced the throttle position sensor based on code reading from check engine light. The light still comes on intermittenly and I get the same code reading. I have now noticed that it seems the transmission is slipping and shuttering when I go up hills. Would this problem be related to the sensor or am I having transmission issues?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Dave

when my truck did this, i had the tranny oil changed along with a filter change.
it fixed it instantly.

ford wants you to change your tranny fluid every 30000 miles.

It would be helpful if you posted the actual code number since none of them (codes) tell you to replace any parts....

Steve,

Good Point, the code I believe was 122. I had it checked at the auto parts store and went to ford to get the sensor. I'll have it checked again and make sure.

Thanks,
Dave

Code was P0122. Just had it checked again. If I replaced the sensor, then what else could it be?

Thanks,
Dave

I had a very bad shudder going up hills an hard accel an had the fluid an filter changed an had the torque converter drained an it also fixed it instantly. Was the code ever cleared?? I had a MLPS code an it was still there after I fixed it when I had my truck serviced, I had them clear it an it has'nt came back.
