umm .. according to a trans "specialist" .. My trans is low, about 4 - 5 qts of fluid low. I just checked it 6 weeks ago, and check it regularly.

What reason could there possibly be that i am missing that much fluid .. WITH "NO EVIDENCE OF A LEAK" anywhere?

any explainations?

If it is a 4x4, check the transfer case fluid level. If you pull out the fill plug and its pouring out chances are the input seal on the transfer case is allowing transmission fluid to enter the transfer case causing your missing fluid condition with no external leaks. Just repaired one like this last week. the transfer case was about 2 quarts overfull. it should be level with the fill plug, or just under.

My guess is that someone (them or you) isn't reading the dipstick correctly.

It's so easy to msiread them that there's a TSB about oil dipsticks.

....

My truck was not happy ... and did not want to move. It was starting to get stuck in gear and did not want to shift. On my way to drop the truck off, if i stopped at a stop sign or red light .. i would have to keep my foot on the brake and slowly push on the gas pedal until it went into gear. (It was rainy and I was trying my hardest to keep my ass end from sliding)

My truck is in the shop right now, lord knows what it looks like or if they even took it apart. I almost feel like the dealership has been making crap up ... like stuff that would void my warranty ... so they dont have to replace my trans.

someone please give me some assistance and guide me ... i have paid $21,000 on this truck already and have 14,000 left to owe on it. I deff dont have money to fix this on my own nor get a rental .... my insurance and ford like refuse to pay for a rental ... saying i am responsible for this crap. I am alomst out of energy to fight this ... (mind you ... this crap started at 2,000 miles and is now at 50,900 miles and my powertrain warranty is up at 60,000 miles, and yes, i have been fighting for 48,000+ miles to get them to fix this!!!)

please
help!!!

If you have taken this truck to the dealership repeatedly for the same issue since 2000 miles was on the odometer, then you need to research "Lemon Laws" in your state and get yourself a good lawyer.

As for the repair of your truck, what exactly does the trans. "specialist" say needs to be done to correct the issue? Those guys are the pros and know your vehicle best. Great idea to check what they say as some can be misleading or downright crooks.

i bought the truck brand new ... drove it off the lot with 12 miles on it. there was bad weather .. 2inches of ice and 6-8inches of snow ontop ... and instead of hitting a row of 4 cars and more coming . . i tried to fight it, which i did and still hit a tree. :( and that happend at 2051miles. ever since i got my truck back after those repairs ... it has been doing this.

lemon laws???
Imma look that up now.

the trans "specialist" today ... he and i had a conversation actually. :cuss:

I asked a bunch of questions
. :argue: .. mostly ones related to the seal in the transfer case discussed above .. could the transfer case seal be the issue? ... how much fluid does it hold? ... how much extra could it hold than normal? ... if trans can burn fluid, how much could it burn over a 48,000 mile period? ... what happens when the trans burns fluid, does it go anywhere, what happens to it? ... And why would you add fluid to a trans that has "such little fluid, its not showing up on the dipstick"? why wouldnt you do a little more investigation into the issue at hand? ... and why wasnt any further investigation done into this from the get go .. I am just now reading articles on tranmissions .. I cant believe i actually trusted the dealership techs and service managers. I knew i should have taken a closer look into things myself from the begining. I just never imagined it would drag out this long and come to such an ... inconveinence. all they kept telling me was "Your warranty is 60,000 miles, youre only at 2000, than told the same bullshit for the next like, 8 times i took it in. Im begining to think finding a decent, honest, caring mechanic shop (employees included) is more difficult than ... hell idk, cant think of anything good to say.

the answers i got just drained even more energy from me ... cuz it came to me ... I cant just get this fixed with out EXTREME hassle ... thats when it hit me , imma be one of those people  whos gonna have to get a lawyer n fight this. But i dont have money right now, not for a lawyer or a rental vehicle. Ive been "hoofin it" with friends since i my only vehicle is in the shop ... uhhg ... im just tired of this .. i know thats what they want ...

i know i need to keep fighting and eventually it will pay off ... but for right now ... depending on other people for means of transport, ggggggrrrrrrr. it sucks!

Didn't know about your crash at 2051 miles (sorry to hear about that). This brings some things into a better light. Did your insurance pay for the repairs? If the repairs were not made correctly, or a needed repair was missed, then the insurance company may be able to help you fight the repair shop. Did the dealership repair the vehicle? If so, was it the same dealership you are working with now?

The answers to these questions can help in giving you a definate path in which to resolve this issue. Still it sounds like the tranny specialist at the dealer hasn't told you what the fix is or how much it will cost, is that correct? I'd be hounding them for answers.

Yes insurance paid for the repairs.
yes the dealership repaired the vehicle, the dealership that i bought it from.
it is not the same dealership i am working with now.
I have taken it to 3 total dealerships, the original, another one and the current one.

they have not told me what the issue is. The only options they say i have (since this "isnt covered under warranty")
is ...
-them take it apart, find and possibly fix whats wrong ...

-get a rebuilt tranny

-get a new one, unused

all the above i have to pay for ...

everytime i call fords corp office, they keep pushing me off .. excuses excuses.

I looked up lemon law last night ... and darn if it doesnt sound like thats what i need to do. Sound like a painfull process tho ...

yesterday when the dealership called me, they were shity ... and just cut the conversation short once i started to ask questions he didnt even have the answers to.

your help is much appreciated ... im so frustrated
