Ford F150 - Yet another Tranny Fluid Question

I have a 98 4.6L manual transmission f150 and need to know what kind of fluid to replace it with? I have read so many different posts about the change from regular MERCON to M3 and 5. Can someone shead some light on this topic? Thanks again.

So i checked the site and called ford for the information. I was told that i may still be able to find Mercn III but Ford no longer endorses it or uses it in their products. I just changed my fluid in my m/t and used the Mercon V. It does seem to ride a bit better and there are no more grinding noises, (still some for a m/t.) I will keep others posted but for now i guess Mercon V it is.

Didn't you read that chart I linked? It says V.
