I've been waiting for the Haynes manual to come out for my 2003 F-150 4.2L. Do you all know how long it takes Haynes to get a manual ready to be sold, and could I go ahead and buy the maual for the '97-'02 (part number 36059). It should be close enough to the '03, right?

Should be the same...but dont waste your money on a Haynes manual. Get a Chilton, or if you can, try to get your hands on a Ford service manual.

for the record, my chilton brand repair manual told me that my starter was held on with three bolts. turned out to be four bolts, one ois hidden. i figured this out after hammering and prying on my starter to try to get it out.

I prefer Haynes over Chilton myself.

I've been using both haynes and chiltons manuals for cars and trucks for over 20 years. Both have shortfalls for various years depending on what your looking for.... You can't find more info for the price though. their cheap. Buy one. Its one more tool and you can never have enough tools....
