I have replaced the VGR the VGR Sensor. Do I need to drive the truck at least 50 to 60 miles so the computer will reset itself?

Oh! the symptom is the check service light only comes on when driving the Truck for about 10 minutes.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Bryon 8)

First, read the codes so you know exactly what is setting the light. Then replace the bad part and finally disconnect the battery for a few minutes to clear the computer and put it into a learn mode to readjust to the new part.

After a few days recheck the codes and they ideally should be just 111 or all clear.

Do you mean EGR? The EEC is adapting all the time, but if you want it to adapt to the new parts immediately, you have to clear the KAM by removing power for ~5 min (either battery or fuse). Then it'll take ~10 min of varied driving for it to adapt.

This thread explains everything you can do with just a paperclip (or any jumper wire).
