Ford F150 - Compatible audio system

Hello,

I'm getting a good deal for a 6CD/MP3 player from a 2005/2006 ford fusion. I have a 2006 f150 Lariat that has a single CD player.
The unit looks similar and I have heard that ford makes similar products for different models.

would this unit fit? modle number for the system that i'm buying 6G1T-18C815-AC.

not sure - but stereo pops out in 5 min so you can check real quick if the plugs match - i know my 02 explorers is not interchangeable with my 04 F150

I've never attempted it, but I think crutchfield will only tell you what aftermarket units will fit. I wouldnt think they would recommend other factory units, as they do not sell them.
