Hi all,
I've done a lot of research, and I don't think I've seen an answer to all of my questions, so here goes...
I have an 05 F150 FX4 w/ the OEM CD6/MP3 radio that has the AUX button, but no AUX input. I would like to be able to hook my Sirius radio or my MP3/Ipod up to it, and be able to control volume thru the OEM radio controls.
From what I have read, I would be best served by avoiding an FM modulator, and instead use an interface to plug directly into the OEM unit w/ a CAN AUX interface (I saw one from a company called BlitzSafe), and install a dash-mount Audio Input jack (like the iSimple PDM35 kit).
Would I be able to listen to both my Sirius radio and MP3 player thru this set up? I'm not worried about being able to charge the units while in use.
I have the same radio but with the ford sirius tuner.I dont think you can hook up anything but the factory sirius tuner..which works thru the aux and steering wheel controls. The aux button will switch thru 3 sirius bands..each with i believe 5 presets. As far as mps thru the aux..I had no luck.
I ended up putting in a nav/dvd unit.
I have my old radio and sirius tuner..even have a brand new sirius antenna that i was told i needed..but my factory antenna worked just fine.
On your 05 truck what you can use is a PIE adapter. This adapter will emulate Sirius as an AUX input and has RCA audio input. Once you have that you can add a 3.5mm jack and plug in to your iPod, aftermarket satellite radio with a 3.5mm out or any other device. If you need the part # post back and I can research for you.

OEMGuy - If you can post the pn, I would appreciate it. I have a PDM35 Aux Input kit for an aux-in jack.
Hi Guy's Great web site,I have a 2005 f-150 and I have tried two different ipod adapters first one was a PXAMG by periphial elec and I now have a blitzsafe canmlink2 and it won't work as well, when I press the AUX button it say's NO AUX AUDIO,the radio is a single cd 5L3T 18C869 AC is there something I need to do to the radio to make it see the adapter, thanks in advance for your time.
Even though the single CD in your F-150 has an Aux button the radio does not have the hardware internally to work with any audio input. You would need at least a 6L3T single CD for it to work. Let me know and I can help you locate a newer radio.
Thanks for the reply oemguy,it all makes sense now. I am going to try to find a newer radio locally first because I live in Ontario Canada,if I can't find one I will take you up on your offer. Thanks again!
