I installed new speakers and an amp on my '06 STX, but when I turn on the radio it does not work. It illuminates and will allow me to eject or load cds, but that is it. It also says initializing when I turn it on. I have checked my wiring several times, and am stumped.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Forgot to add that it is the 6 cd mp3 radio. I had changed it a year ago from the stock single cd player to a stock 6 cd changer I bought on ebay. I tried putting the old stock radio in again and it does the same thing.

the same thing happened to my truck. but my case was i had bestbuy install an aftermarket amp to power all four 3way pioneers that i bought for my doors. and the amp turned out bad, but my radio still came on, and still showed like it was playing music or tuned into a radio staion, so i took it in, got a diagnostic done by bestbuy, they at first told me it was my radio, which i doubted it, so i took it to a local place to do one, and they told me it was my amp. therefore i went to bestbuy, and exchanged the product, charge free :)

I had an Alpine MRP-F300, and i guess it just went bad, or maybe there was something wrong with the amp, but they swapped it out for a Sony XM-ZR704.

Hope that helped with at least something, because it definately wouldn't be your speakers. have you amp checked and let me know if that's what it was
