My manual 95 reg cab F150 has an issue sometimes when i turn corners. What happens is, when I turn a tight corner at medium speed (19-23mph) it feels like my steering looses power, and i have to crank my steering wheel in the other direction and hold it there forcibly to maintain a straight direction of travel. It does this when I turn either direction. Idk if it is my gear box, power steering pump, tie rods, or wheels... please help me out..
Thanks,
JR

My 96 150 did this also. The mechanic at work called it "memory steer." It is caused by dry or insuficent grease in the ball joints. Try lubing them and driving it for a while. My steering came back in a day or so. It can also happen if the truck sits a long time without driving it.(days or weeks) My 96 sits some times for a couple of weeks at a time. If the grease dosen't help, it might be time for new ball joints.

Good luck.

Also after I greased the ball joints, I ran it down a couple of dirt roads swerving back and forth and hitting some small potholes to get the suspension working through its full travel.
