A friend just gave me his Cobra 29 LTD ST. The price was right so I took it but I can't figure out a good place to mount it in my '94 XLT. It seems as if all of the convenient places to mount are nothing but plastic. I would love to put it below the ashtray, that will require a custom bracket. Second choice is right of the steering wheel but there could be some leg clearance issues there. Any and all suggestions are appreciated. Mac |

Trans hump mount. You can get them at Radio Shack. They keep you from drilling holes in your dash... I put mine to the left of the steering wheel with Velcro so I can remove it without drilling the dash... I guess modding an older truck that didn't cost me so much was easier years ago... I remember taking a hacksaw to the dash of my Jeep... |

I like the setup Steve but I think that I should stay away from bending metal and drilling the roof. I know a good tin man at work that I may be able to pursuade to do something for a few cold frosty beverages though. Db, I don't know why I didn't think of velcro before though. I think I'll use that for now and work on the overhead for later. Thanks for the ideas guys. Mac |
