What is the best cold air intake for a 2005 F-150 5.4.

I don't think you have a lot of options, Mac, AF1, Green or airaid should be it. From those options, it's simply personal prefference. No one is significantly better than another. Given those choices I would choose either green or airaid.

If the AEM brute force will fit, its a heck of a system.

If I do it again, volant...seems to be the only true cold air intake. My Airaide is an open element not really a cold air system. But hey I got it free.
