I own a 2007 F-150 Lariat. After driving a few hours on the interstate/parkway, the truck drives like it is stuck in first gear. The problem seems to be getting worse. When it first started, it would reset itself within a few minutes, but recently I couldn't drive more than 5 mph. I had to pull over and shut the truck off for a few minutes. When I re-started it, it was okay. It's been at the dealer for a couple of days, and of course, they don't know what's wrong. Worse, they can't re-create the problem to figure out how to fix it. HELP!!!!!!!

I thought that kind of info would be stored in the computer?! I mean it should throw some sort of code. I like Gordie580's idea!! But then you would not have the truck for a while.

Well, here's the latest, they kept the truck one more day with no real answer, but decided to drop in a new computer chip. I took the truck on the road for a couple days. It worked great and I thought problem solved. Of course not, back home, running around on the local streets and the noise starts again. I drive straight to the dealer, and the manager says it has to do with the fan. I drop it off the next morning, and get a call in the afternoon. What a shock - it's not the fan and don't know what it is. Now we're back to square one. That idea of blowing the engine and/or transmission sounds pretty good right now!!!!!!

us, as in we or consumers. i think the typical cost of any warranty-type work or fraudulant claim is spread out amongst "us" as consumers, either by the dealers or the manufactures. just my opinion.

.....in this case "us" will not be the consumers as a whole. One guy's blown up engine will not have an impact on the consumers moving forward....especially given the current state of truck sales.

NOW......as a consumer here is what we expect from you Forddope the dealer. We expect you to hire competent technicians who can quickly diagnose a major f@%king problem that we are dealing with here. This is not a quirky little squeek or rattle we are talking about. This a significant major problem with this truck. I don't care if it's the dealer or the manufacturer but one of you had darn well better be figuring this out and picking up the tab in a fuckin hurry on this truck. And if the dealer's pathetic technicians can't identify the problem and this particular consumer feels it's not a bad idea to blow the godamn engine up......then so be it. I'll pay my share to help him out!

I've had a problem like what you describe but I have a Edge Products Evolution installed. My problem started after I did the 0-60mph and 1/4mile tests.

Does the wrench light on your dash light when the problem occurs? Mine does and I can see the trouble code on the Evolution (I don't recall the exact wording) it refers to throttle being forced and limited power. The code clears when the engine is turned off and back on or if I clear it on the Evolution.

The problem can happen at anytime, it's happened more in stop and go traffic but I've had it happen just going from 60 to 70 abruptly.

Another issue I thin caused by the proggrammer is my engine stalls, but this hasn't happened since I let the wrench light go off before turning over the engine. It seems to have something to do with the programmer and the engine computer talking to each other.

Looking for more information too.
