My 3rd brake light seems to get water in and was wondering if I should remove the lense and apply a sealant to prevent water to get in. What type of sealant will do the job? Would I have to remove the entire lense apply and put lense on? Please let me know, thanks.

If this is still under warranty take it back to the dealer and let them worry about it, and by all means make them fix it. If you do something on your own and there are further issues down the road, electrical problems or whatever, they won't touch it since it has been "modified" and it will cost you.

I had the same problem, and the first time they "FIXED" it, it was worse than when i took it in, so i made them put a new light on it and it solved the problem. F@CK the dealer, take it to them and make them replace it. Or, leave a laptop or some other expensive electronic thing in the backseat that you need replaced or would like replaced and soak the s**t out of it, ruin it and say the light caused it.

I tried the silicone on my 97 3rd brake light and the moisture problem did not get any better. My solution was to drill (4) small holes on the bottom, out of sight after installed. Worked like a champ!

Forddope-FIST YOURSELF!! I'm not the reason anything costs what it does, it's because everything is farmed out and built by the lowest bidder... EVERYTHING!!! They need to fix their god darn problems and not just keep half assing it. I'm by no means stupid, and do not commit crimes. I have never destroyed anything on a vehicle just to get it fixed. And if you weren't a f@%king retard you would realize that the reason trucks cost so much is because the american people are stupid!! HELLO!!!!!????? You can buy a fully loaded Latiat SCREW 4X4 for $20,000 less than sticker right now, and THEY ARE STILL MAKING PROFIT OFF OF THEM!!!!.... does that tell you something?? Look at how long they have been f@%king everyone. Think before you speak you jackass! Or just don't speak.

No.... i haven't done this, but that is what almost happenned to me. I always carry my company laptop in the truck with me and usually i put it in the back seat, well i got my light "FIXED" and i happenned to have the laptop in the front seat when it started leaking, and when it leaked again i had taken it in the house so it was not in the truck or it would have been ruined. After they "FIXED" it, i had enough water in my truck from a mild rain to make the carpet soaked under the seat. I was stating thought, it's bullshit that they can't fixe a problem that has been ocurring for over 4 years. It's f@%king rediculous. So, if they won't fix the problem, might as well f**k them as they have been doing to us.... Think about it. New Lariat SCREW 4X4 fully loaded at this time last year was around $41,900.... and now you can buy them new with incentives and rebates AFTER the price they start negotiating at for around $25,000......

25K is cheap, is that for the 4x4 or FX4? I paid $26K in January 08' and I was able to get the super crew w/tow package and the 5.4L but the 4x4 FX4 were in the high 30's and they couldn't get my payments at 400-450 a month for one so I settled for the 4x2 with my payment a month at $413 a month what I could do. They want $540 for the XLT 4x4 and over $600 for the FX4 Super crew all were 5.4L, I did get my Big V8 but kinda wish it had 4x4 but no worries. I could not wait my other truck (F-250) Diesel 7.3L 4x4 was starting to cost thousands and when I got a diesel leak and the mechanic said it would cost 2500-3000K to fix I was like, well I need a new truck. Otherwise I would have waited for that kinda deal.

Well i guess it depends on where you are at in the country, there is a dealership around here Woodhouse Ford, and they have probably 2000 trucks on their lot, Just in the F-150 series alone, they were advertising New Lariat Screw 4X4 5.4L Tow package for 24,995. One of my fellow fire fighters just bought one and he traded a 98 in and they gave him 8k for the 98 and he paid 17,500 for the new one

I was looking about a month ago. I had my eye on an 08 f150 FX4 super crew, with the towing pkg. FULLY LOADED! with all discounts and rebates, was looking at around $30-32k. Maybe just where your at as 07 said, I "HEAR" up north they are more because of the demand for 4x4, less in the south! Who knows.

That is probably it, depending on where you are at is what caused the price gouging.... I talked to the dealer where i bought mine, they haven't sold a 4X4 truck for 42 days. That was last week when i got my truck serviced. The economy just plain sucks right now!
