Ok so last night I wired up everything so when I recieve my lights today I'll be ready for them. I used 16 gauge speaker wire and hooked the positive to the battery and grounded the other wire by one of the bolts next to the battery. I'm planning on going from there to my the remote switch that I bought and then going to the LED's if this is wrong please let me know what I should fix.
Thanks

You might think about an in-line fuse since you're coming directly off the battery. It's cheap insurance that could possibly keep your truck from burning to the ground.
