?We're sposed to wash these things? Last time I washed mine was @ the 70 mph car wash [raining hard & going 70]. But, since my wife has been driving mine, while I've been deployed, think she washes & vacs it once a wk, emails fotos too of the kids & truck. Closet Ford truck lover that one. Nice job Chris, sucker looks better than brand new.

Well it's only about 9 months old so the paint is still pretty fresh on it. And to be quite honest the factory paint job is piss poor pathetic.......it's full of orange peel, but Shhhh don't tell anybody. Most people don't notice. I guess it's the best Ford is willing to do when they produce as many of these trucks as they do!
Thanks for the positive comments guys - appreciate it

Fords have always had orange peel paint or at least everyone that I have seen since the early 90s.

That polishing job sure did a good job of hiding it!

that is one clean looking truck.....although I wouldn't want to move it after all that work went into it....it would just get dirty again and the I'd get pissed....lol

plus....it seems everytime I actually wash my truck....it rains within the next few days.

absolutely not!....never. I did it by hand using 100% American cotton bath towels (this is recommended by Zaino). And it actually isn't hard work......much easier than waxing a vehicle.
The polish goes on the same as wax but comes off easier.....and you don't have to worry about getting it on plastic rubber or anything. I did this back earlier in the summer but this time just washed it and sprayed it with the polish enhancer spray. I have two different enhancer sprays and applying them is a piece of cake. Just like putting Windex on a window and wiping it in. Actually I didn't even work up a sweat this weekend - LOL

Orange peel is on the majority of cars, it's just that most people don't look that close. The only cars that get wet-sanded to remove the orange peel are luxury cars like Lexus, Mercedes, Jaguar, etc.

Orange peel is caused by the paint drying too fast. Most automakers put an additive in the paint to make it dry faster, however it probably isn't added to the paint on higher end stuff. Time isn't quite as much of an issue on them and not as many need to be produced in a day.
