I have a 05 5.4 with 86000 miles. No check engine light and started ticking. It falls on it's face if you gas it. The ford house said it was the variable vavle adjusters and it would cost 2400 to fix it. Anybody else had this problem?

One of fords great screw ups, cheap parts, should be a recall . Yes I have the same problem, being fixed right now on their tab to my 05 with 72000kms on it. Cam Phasers. Sounds like a sick diesel. Cluck, cluck cluck.
