| I have a 2007 FX4 SuperCab with 16,500 miles that has been having t-case issues for the last 8,000 miles. Dealer can't find anything wrond since they can't duplicate the issue.
While driving home from work yesterday it did it again and again this morning on the way to work. "It" being a grinding noise, it stopped when I turned the switch to 4x4 HI and then OFF. It has occured on and off at any time and at any speed. I diconnected the solenoid motor on the t-case before I left from work today. Seems to have solved the problem. Plan on draining the t-case to check for shavings and then taking it into the dealer to prove me point. How can I test the solenoid motor? _________________ Pat |

| Don't drain anything, make them do it. If you start the job they may say it is your problem. Let the warranty work for you. |

| I agree with 123, if you start messing with it they don't have to cover the issue. They can document that a certified Ford tech wasn't doing the work. So you could be SOL. |

| Hooked up the solenoid motor again and took it to the dealer yesterday. Told them I don't want it back until it is fixed and I see the old parts laying in the truck bed. Will see how it goes, Thanks for you comments. _________________ Pat |

Now thats how you gotta handle these Fricken dealers service idiots, I doubt you will see the old parts in your bed of your truck. Depending on how you actually said it, your truck could be used to "go get lunch" or run other errands they may have to do. Hope you wrote down the mileage before you left! I wrote down my mileage and the truck was there for 2 days and they put 40+ miles on it and showed them asked why and they didn't know, but they filled my tank-up. _________________ 08' F-150 XLT 5.4L Super Crew 4x2
