Yeah I know in the scheme of things this is small, but... I have an '01 s-cab with the 2-cup holder in the dash. It's supposed to open when you push it in, it is supposed to "spring" back and then you pull it completely open. It still opens if I reach uner and pull it, but whatever causes it to "spring" open is missing. I haven't found anything on the floor boards, as if something fell out. Anybody got any Ideas what makes this little baby "spring" out?? Thanks in advance for any responses. It's a small problem, but every little thing that quits working just annoys me. Makes me feel like the truck is older than it is. Thanks, Bear.

its a big metal lookin piece. if you stick your hand under the cupholder whole and reach down it should be there, i know this because i just fixed mine. all i did was take it out and screw it to the back of the cup holder. tell me if that works....

Thanks, I just figured out how to take the cup holder all the way out, and it was down in the dash, just like you described. I did the same thing, just drilled it out where there are slots in the holder itself, a couple of litle nuts and bolts, and PRESTO, it's done! Thanks for your response, it was dead on!!!, Bearpaw.

There is a little "stopper" on each top of each rail. When you pull it out and it stops, use a flat screwdriver to push each side down, and it will slide all the way out. Oh,yeah, you gotta take the light bulb out. It just turns a quarter-turn, and pops out. Hope that helps. It took me a little head scratching when I did it, but finally figured it out. Good luck
