no. different PCM strategies and different sensors. for example, the EDIS system with the 8 plugs uses a crank position sensor to determine when to fire off the plugs. while the distributor with the 4 plugs does not. find the exact motor that came in your truck as this swap will not work without a lot of time and money and parts hunting.
