Ford F150 - 4x4 not working

My dad just bought a 98 v6 ranger and the 4x4 dose not work. I replaced a vacuum line that was corroded out near the front right hub. The switch seems to be okay. Any ideas on what it could be? Thanks, Andy

its like night and day diff, my 4wd was never dependable, 2yrs later has worked everytime
