| I put a 22" magnaflow exhaust on my 01 supercrew f150 with a turndown spout, but its not lout enough! at an idle it sounds stock, even though when i rev it up it sounds nice in the cab.. I got the 22" because i didn't want it to be too loud.. my question is, does anybody have the 14" or 18" models? I know they are louder but i thought i would get other opinions on how loud yours are, and how you liked them? _________________ 2001 Ford F-150 4dr 4x4 |

| I have the 14" on my '01 XLT.I really like it. Great sound (not as much as a Flowmaster) when I get on it, but very quiet at 60MPH, which is great for crusin. It exits in the stock location, just exits straight out, instead of an angle. I have heard other guys on this sight sat the shorter the Magnaflow, the louder.Good luck, Bearpaw _________________ '01 Old S'Cool Retro. A Man and his truck:It's a beautiful thing! | I have a 06 Scab, and I put a 18in magnaflow on mine. It sounds like stock to me as well. Even going down the road it sounds stock. I wish I could have heard the finished product before I purchased it cause I surely will never own another Magnaflow again. I believe when it comes to a Ford that flowmaster has got the sound down pat. I pondering on switching out my magnaflow with the new flowmaster made for off road trucks. Well good luck with your setup. _________________ Edge Evolution

| I have the Magnaflow 16616 and love it. Deep sound when I give it gas, a nice low rumble when crusin'. |

Yep, 14-incher here.
In my gallery, video/audio clip.
Love it, mellow tone. I enjoy the tone it makes more then the volume others make.
Single exhaust, cat-back. 3 1/2" slash tip. _________________

| I actually have it all clamped together with exhaust clamps, so it will be easy to replace.. I've also hear the shorter they are the better so im thinking about going with the 14".. i just don't want it to be too loud.. _________________ 2001 Ford F-150 4dr 4x4 |

| What are your noise guidelines? Do you have children you are trying to listen to? Do you think your radio won't play loud enough over the exhaust note? Um, do you just want to not have to listen to it. Are you afraid your female passenger will say it's to loud?
Well unless it's the children or the female presence you won't have a problem with a 14" Magnaflow at all. It rumbles (maybe mumbles) gently down the highway. When you rev it up under a load like when entering a highway it will wake up. Accelerating through the gears under normal driving conditions you will know it is there, but not so much you are shaking your head in disgust.
Anybody on this site who has the Magnaflow says pretty much the same thing about their exhaust as the other readers. So it is not just me giving a bias opinion because I have one. Like I said before, it's the tone I like more then the missing volume I don't like. |
