The only speed that the A/C and heater fan will blow is high or 4. The other three speeds do not produce any output.
This problem started while I was using the A/C driving down the road. The fan was set on 2 and I noticed it was getting warm. I then noticed the fan was not blowing. I switched to high and it started blowing. I switched it back to 2 and it kept blowing. Again it stopped blowing on 2. I switched to high and it started blowing again. I switched to 2 and it quit. Since then it only blows on high. My first thought is the switch but why would high work?
electronic climate control? or manual? sounds like the blower motor resistor has failed.
the resistor acts upon the twelve volts sent to the blower to produce different fan speeds, higher resistance, less voltage, slower speed. its not goin through any resistors so you just have high speed.
i think it is located directly behind the glove box. i have yet to have to replace one of these resistors so i am not completely sure where it is and the component location chart is not very clear.
