well boys and girls, im in the market after getting my rebate check for some dual exhaust. problem is im not an expert on it. what i do know is i dont wanna spend that much but want a good, deep, rich sound. i was looking at the website advertised on here f150store.com for it but there are so many to chose from. also if i did buy one of these i wouldnt be able to install it. is there somewhere i could go to get someone else to install? or even easier yet, are there any places where i can go to get it all done at one spot instead of ordering it all online and bringing it there? thanks for the info.

I have the same model truck as you. Mine is the Roush "Street Boss." I just had Flowmaster
Street Thunder series installed. Sound is exactly what I wanted. Cost was 415.00. Dual exit, dual side, crome tips. Hope this helps.

I paid $420 for everything. Flowmaster Delta 40 Muffler with all the piping and chrome tips. I got it done at the local Tirecraft. Alot of tire places also do exhaust work.

I just put new straight pipes on. Stainless free flowing "Y", 2 18"L X 3 1/2" SS tips, piping and 1 hour labor. $300 sounds great . Nice rumble.

I just had a flowmaster installed yesterday and it sounds great. not too loud but a nice rumble. I had it done at mineky for 500 installed. they welded all the joints and did a very proffesional job.

i had my local guy here put a flowaster 40 series on with si/do and run the exhaust out both sides behind the tires on my truck -it was only $225 - its an 05 xlt scab 5.4 as well - all welded 2.5" pipe with stainless 2x4" rectangle tips - love the way it sounds - louder than stock, but not too loud with a nice powerful deep sound to it - i have pics of the tips in my pictures - dont buy a kit - you can get a good muffler shop to cut and bend their own pipes for a lot less

i have magnaflow dual exhaust 2.5"(I think?) piping with 3" SS tips, Y at the rear. I really want to go with true dual exhaust. my bro just bought an 01 F 150 with true duals and it still sounds good. nice and loud.

Pete,

I went with a local guy and he did a great job. All welded with SS Tips. It was considerably under 500 bucks. As far as HP and gas mileage........ probably not much gain. Flowmasters sound real "throaty" but not Illegally loud. Subtle

Good luck,

Al

they may would give you more power if you run a true dual from the headers back but for the cost of that install with new cats, new piping, mufflers, and all its not worth it inless you are gonna race it - i looked at it on my 05 from the factory cats back - but none of the shops i talked to wanted to do it because of the location of the gas tank so i just had a single in/dual out flowmaster 40 series - it improved the sound but i did not notice a performance difference til i added my k&n 57 series - i chnged the sound from intake to exhaust and i can feel a big differnece - especially when passing and hihgway speeds

its $235 for the k&n at autoanything.com (they have everybody else beat by about $70 on k&n cai's) and it was only $225 here at a local muffler shop - shop around and call some shops to gt prices - most of the other shops in my area wanted $300 and up for the same thing - an hour or so with a phone adn yellow pages can save you tons - just be sure to keep some $$$$ tucked back for a spark plug change - see my forum about the truoble im having with mine in the 04-08 trucks forum - ford has a bad design flaw in the factory plugs
