Edge programmer. FlexFuel has nothing to do with anything. . I'd stay away from E85 regarding anything "performance" related.

Evidently, you know nothing about E85 since it is 105 octane and it's use gives an increase of 15-20 hp with the stock tune in 5.4 Ford vehicles. It's use in highly modified engines gives performance well in excess of gasoline.

diablosport predator. comes ouit of the box ready to use with gas and e85. you can also adjust the peramiters on the predator youself and get a little more out of the e85. they have a forum on their site if you have more questions. you can also get the edge evo, cant adjust as much on it as you can the predator though.

Sorry, let me rephrase that, I wouldn't waste my money setting up a programmer for it because it will run its course and eventually die out. E85 was a dumb idea from the start, it will disappear.

^^^I hope it doesn't. It's basically like extremly cheap race gas. With all the ethanol plants, I don't see it dying out anytime soon.

To the OP, the best tuner for E85 would be an HPtuner. www.hptuners.com

It's not easy to learn to tune, but it's a great program, and you can adjust basically anything withing the PCM. You can get a much better tune than with off the shelf tunes.

Well if I had a choice I would go with a hypertech, they are only 300 dollars at summitracing, however I don't know how many more mpg you get with it, that and you can tune to both 87 octane or 93 octane fuel, plus clear trouble codes, change pretty much everything including shift firmness and shift points.

As for E85 sure it is 103 or whatever octane so it will take a higher temp before it has predetonation BUT, chemically it is inferior to gasoline because it doesn't have as much energy as gasoline. So normally you would get what maybe 16 or so MPG with 87 octane gasoline, with E85 you'll be lucky to get 14 or so mpg. Sure it is cheaper but in the long run you'll be paying the same as regular gas. Plus side it's somewhat better for the environment (but not by much emission wise) but it does help us become less dependant on foriegn oil.

I found an E85 pump, a Chevron. It was $2.89 /gallon..... I was paying $3.99 for premium.
