| I have an 06 f150 crewcab my map lights only work when I step on the brake and it gets brighter when I put it in reverse. Also when I have my signal likes on they work fine but if I step on the brake while they are on the signals speeds up really fast. any help on this would be greatly helpful. |

Hi, sounds like it's related to the brake circuit. A truck manual & multimeter would help. Start checking for normal 12vdc power at the main fuse panel. Also check the tow connector if you have one. Might be wet or damaged. I had a damaged tow connector that caused lighting problems before. Hope this helps, POWERUPP. _________________ Proud to be driven by FORD!

| I would definaterly check all of your bulbs, and then if you dont find a problem there, check the trailer connector 4,5, or 7 pin or whatever the truck is equipped with. Also, if it has a trailer brake controller, this could be causing some problems as well, you might check that or unplug it and see if it makes a difference. Something is giving a feedback causing a "short" to show up and it is feeding back through your map lights. And as POWERUPP said, make sure you have 12Volts DC at the fuse panel and the battery, check with the truck running and with it off, does this make a difference?? your battery should show 12.4-12.8 volts static charge, then check the alternator when the truck is running and you should have around 14.2 Volts there. Good luck, hope you find something. |
