Actually, ya I know a bit. I am a network engineer for a petroleum exploration and production company that owns mineral rights on 25k square acres in the Bakken play. We currently have 3 wells, free flowing 800+ barrels/day with plans for 50-60 more. That fact alone sure is helping our stock price go up

From what I understand, housing is in sort of a wierd situation in that area. We saw the same type of "Oil Boom" in the Dickinson area years ago and when the oil stopped flowing, people lost their houses and property values dropped. So from what I hear, there are way more people in the area (4+ hours from me so I dont really see the effect)than there is housing. This is just rumor that I have heard though, so it could be BS.
