Does anyone know how a double wall tip affects the exhaust sound? Installing a 2007 Harley muffler on Saturday and I need to finish off the system with a good looking set of tips.
Would think not very much. The only time you get more sound is by a tip that expands in diameter as you go from where it attaches to your exhaust pipe to the end of the tip. For instance, when I installed my 3" system on my old F150 I used to have the 3" to 3.5" tip from http://vibrantperformance.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=1021_1034 it sounded a tiny bit louder and somehow more zoomy if u can call it that. I liked it a lot.
Most double-wall tips just stay shiny better as the outside wall doesn't get as hot as the inside. Like a heat shield.
