| At What mileage should you have your first oil change at on 4 month old 08' F-150 w/5.4L SuperCrew? First oil change is on the dealer. I have spoken to an service advisor and he said 5000 miles for oil change, I read on MyFordOwner.com where they show my service schedule since I registered the truck with them and gave'em my vin#, and entered miles I drive in a week and they calculate that my first oil change to be at 7500 miles(seems like a lot of miles to wait for an oil change since the oil in there was in the truck when purchased) Right now Iam at 3400 miles. Should I do now? I was gonna wait till at least 4000 miles, but dont want to mess the engine up by waiting to long. Any help is much appreciated. _________________ 08' F-150 XLT 5.4L Screw cab

Hi Steele, First oil I have changed @ 500-1k. Then I always change @3k. I never felt good about the 5k or 7.5k oil change, if I did put on the miles. Even If you pay, it should cost approx $35 at the dealer. Also, remember to keep records while under warranty. Take care, POWERUPP _________________ Proud to be driven by FORD!

| Maintenance is over-rated...before you jump the gun and s**t a brick, think about it. Look all over the world...all the cars and trucks in the South America and the African Bush, Middle East, Austrailian Outback...the HARSHEST terrains and a minimum amount of maintenance, if ANY. I mean I'm all for regular maintenance (oil changes every 5K) but I've seen pics of Toyotas running through freaking jungles with no radiator fluid! Do you think some guy driving in the middle of the Australian Outback is gonna look at his Odometer and go "Oh s**t! I need an oil change!" No, he is just gonna keep driving and not worry about it. I was talking to my friend's dad the other day, and he told me that when he got out of college, he sold his FJ Cruiser and bought some Chevy car. He didn't change the oil for 70,000 miles!!! After that he started doing regular changes and the car ran for another 60,000 before he sold it. |

LOLOL have you noticed that you used Toyotas as your examples. I wouldnt try that on my Ford. Always go to the dealer for the first oil change, because Hulk Hogan would struggle getting that filter off for the first time I had the oil change plan and took it in at 4000 miles.

| On every new motor I've ever had I've changed the oil early the first time. I do it at 1,000 miles.
I change it at 3,000-3,500 faithfully from there on out regardless of if it's conventional, semi-synthetic, or synthetic oil.
So far a motor has never gone bad on me. And some have had nearly 200,000 miles on them.
Drive like a grandma, keep oil and oil filter changed, keep a fresh air filter in, and stay up on all maintenance and they will last. |

| Wow, what's the big deal? I did say approx and did not list the Spring coupon included oil/filter, lube, tire rotation, and wash. Also, my "07" came with lifetime oil changes. Hope that makes you feel better hound_dogs_01. Take care, POWERUPP. |

| What about the transmission oil change interval? I looked everywhere and nobody mentions anything about transmission oil change. Does anybody know anything about this? |
